Sherbourn Technologies Announces Its Second ""Five"" Channel ""Five"" Mono Block Amplifier

Sherbourn Technologies has announced another ""five"" channel ""five"" mono block amplifier, this one with a suggested retail price of $1,350. Like the original 5/1500 amplifier the new 5/900 incorporates, onto a single chassis, ""five"" modular amplifiers, ""five"" power supplies, ""five"" heatsinks and againÖ""five"" toroidal transformers. Each of these ""five"" mono blocks can output up to 125 watts at 8 ohms and 180 watts at 4 ohms. With selectable bridging the 5/900 can yield an output per channel of 250 watts at 8 ohms and 360 watts at 4 ohms. ""Knowing that the 5/900 will be used as much for listening to ëmusicí as for ëmovieí soundtracks,"" says President Ron Fone, ""Sherbournís designers have again paid attention to me amplifierís musical integrity as well as to its power output. With multichannel music CDs becoming increasingly popular, the company believes that five channel amplifiers need to position not only prodigious and stable outputs but also need to replicate the ëmusicalí transparency associated with mono blocks and high quality two-channel amplifiersÖcriteria that the company believes it meets with both the new 5/900 and its original and well reviewed 5/1500."" In related news, Sherbourn Technologies has released its innovative ""Brick"" audio/video amplifier. Dubbed the ""Brick,"" because of its physical size, the attractive stereo amplifier carries a suggested retail price of $250. It outputs a total of 60 watts at 8 ohms and 90 watts at 4 ohms. The ""Brick"" offers an impressive list of features including a ëpower oní LED, removable power cord, line level inputs, audio and video sensing switches, 12 volt trigger input, bridge/mono switch, adjustable time delay for automatic switch off, an internal A/B switch, preset volume controls, two pairs of speaker binding posts and special circuits to prevent harsh clipping of loudspeakers. Its sleek black aluminum cabinet is designed as a heatsink to prevent the amplifier from overheating when delivering its full rated power. Sherbourn says it will shortly introduce its patented twelve and four channel amplifiers with 8 and 4 ohm outputs of 50 watts per channel.
