Sony And JVC Joint Venture On D-VHS

Sony and JVC have joined forces to bring a new level of connectivity to D-VHS (D=Data). Sony plans to use its IEEE 1394 FireWireÆ (i.Link) interface knowledge in conjunction with the JVC-invented D-VHS system to ensure connectivity with digital equipment such as digital satellite and terrestrial set-top boxes ñ the next generation of which should being to appear with IEEE 1394 sockets.
