A new addition to the ParidigmÆ Performance seriesÖthe Legend was announced by Paradigm at the May HiFi í99 Home Theater and Specialty Audio Show in Chicago. With its built-in subwoofer, the Legend is ideal for rooms where placement of an outboard subwoofer is difficult. The Legend features: - Magnetically shielded floorstanding system - Built-in side-firing powered subwoofer High-frequency drivers feature CMCô ceramic/metal composite domes, high-temperature voice coils, ferrofluid-cooling and oversized magnets. Midrange and bass drivers feature high-pressure die-cast aluminum chassis, polypropylene cones (carbon-fiber-reinforced composite cones for bass drivers), high-temperature voice coils with Apicalô formers and focused-field magnetic assemblies. Paradigm-built subwoofer amplifiers are high-power, high-current discrete designs that feature oversized power supplies and dual-sided glass epoxy boards, with precision components used throughout. Enclosures feature high-density hardboard and high velocity low noise ports. Dividing networks use close-tolerance, high power components in frequency- and phase-corrected quasi-Butterworth configurations. The Legend has a 3/4-inch high-frequency driver, a 6-1/2-inch midrange driver and a 10-inch bass driver. The bass driver is powered by a 300w/110/w RMS amplifier.
