AMC To Scale Back Multiplexes

After earning the scorn of other theatrical exhibition companies for opening giant plexes directly in competition with other exhibitors, AMC is reportedly retreating from its aggressive megaplex-building strategy. AMC Entertainmentís future complexes will be smaller than the 24- and 30-screen plexes. The reason: too big for many of its markets. The new AMC megaplex prototype will be limited to 20 screens.
