Onkyoís New Direction

Onkyo, which was purchased in 1999 by entrepreneur Naoto Ohtsuki, has in development three new DVD-Video players, including a single-play, a signature Onkyo six-disc-carousel design, and a THXÆ Ultra progressive scan ""universal"" unit with DVD-Audio playback. The DVD players are said to be designed with a ""pure audio signal path"" and ""true audio power supply."" Three receivers also are in development. All are DolbyÆ Digital and DTSÆ Digital Surround capable, have 5.1 inputs, 96kHz/24-bit DACs and new amp topology. The top-of-the-line model is THX Select-certified.
