Matsushita Licenses FireWire Technology From Apple Computer

Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., the maker of Panasonic and Technics brand consumer electronic products sold in the U.S., has licensed Apple Computerís patented FireWireÆ technology for use in their semiconductors, consumer products and other applications.FireWire was invented by Apple in the early 1990s and was adopted by the IEEE as a standard (IEEE 1394) in 1995 (see the article, ì inî in Issue 29).
