""The Mummy"" Set For DVD Release On September 28

Universal City, CA, June 22, 1999: Universal Studios Home Video is expected to announce today the DVD release of their Spring box office hit ""The Mummy"" for September 28, 1999.This updated edition of the horror classic was directed by Stephen Sommers (""Deep Rising""), stars Brendan Fraser (""George Of The Jungle,"" ""Encino Man"") and Rachel Weisz (""The Land Girls"") and features visual effects by Industrial Light & Magic (""Star Wars,"" ""Jurassic Park""). To date, it has grossed over $130 million at the theatrical box office.Two DVD editions will be released, one in widescreen (anamorphic widescreen 2.35:1) and the other, a full screen edition. Both editions will feature over 90 minutes of supplemental material including behind-the-scenes featurettes and audio commentary. The suggested retail price is expected to be $29.98 for either edition.
