Atlantic Technology Introduces System 170

Atlantic Technology, the highly regarded manufacturer of advanced home theatre speaker systems, has introduced a completely new, and less expensive, system to expand its current product offerings. This latest system carries on Atlanticís tradition of delivering exceptional performance and value, accurately reproducing music and movies with equal aplomb. System 170 features 2-way D'Appolito configured left, center, and right satellites, 2-way full range dipole surrounds, and a powerful 12-inch 150 watt Class G subwoofer. Although compact in size, this system delivers accurate, neutral sound in spades. Its Black Oak finished enclosures are easy to place in most any room and their included keyhole mounting brackets and optional black or white stands make them extremely room friendly. The surround speakers are also available with a matte white finish and have an optional in-wall mounting kit. The 171 LR Satellites feature dual 4-inch long throw drivers with Coated Composite Molded Graphite (CCMG) cones. Rubber composite surrounds and high temperature voice coils are employed for exceptionally long travel with low distortion. Magnetic shielding makes for easy placement near the TV. A 1-inch Ferrofluid cooled silk dome tweeter with a powerful magnet structure completes these excellent music and movie speakers.The 173 C Center channel adds to this configuration horizontal positioning, Atlanticís famous aim-able base design, and a high frequency level control for precise timbre matching.The 174 SR dipole surrounds incorporate the same high performance 4-inch drivers and a new 3/4-inch modified dome Ferrofluid cooled tweeter. Like all Atlantic dipoles the 174 SR is a Frequency Enhancedô design which eliminates the inherent tendency of dipoles to cancel their own bass response. Thus the 174 SR is ideal for all surround system including Dolby Digital and DTS. The 172 PBM subwoofer includes a 12-inch composite cone woofer in a sealed enclosure. The built-in Class G 150 watt RMS amplifier incorporates an adjustable crossover, phase reversal switch, and high level/low level inputs with pass through connectors. A front mounted level control completes this powerful subwoofers flexible design. System 170 is now available with a manufacturer's suggested retail system price of $1,396. The individual models can also be purchased separately. The 171 LR's are $299 per pair, the 173 C is $199 each, the 174 SR's are $299 per pair, and the 172 PBM is $599 each.
