At the 1999 Cinema Expo International Convention in Amsterdam last week another demonstration of digital projection versus film took place. The digital projection and film images ran synchronously on a split-screen. According to reports, Kodak produced film clips for the demonstration and THX and Lucasfilm furnished some release footage from ""Star Wars: Episode I ñ The Phantom Menace."" Kinotone provide the film projection equipment and Electrohome provide the electronic projectors.Also at Cinema Expo International, BARCO unveiled a new range of projection systems based on Texas Instrumentsí DLPô technology ñ the Extreme Light Machine (ELM) Series. The ELM Series offers brightness in excess of 10,000 lumens.
