Cinema Expo Shows Digital Projection

At the 1999 Cinema Expo International Convention in Amsterdam last week another demonstration of digital projection versus film took place. The digital projection and film images ran synchronously on a split-screen. According to reports, Kodak produced film clips for the demonstration and THX and Lucasfilm furnished some release footage from ""Star Wars: Episode I ñ The Phantom Menace."" Kinotone provide the film projection equipment and Electrohome provide the electronic projectors. Also at Cinema Expo International, BARCO unveiled a new range of projection systems based on Texas Instrumentsí DLPô technology ñ the Extreme Light Machine (ELM) Series. The ELM Series offers brightness in excess of 10,000 lumens.
