Fox To Distribute MGM DVDs In All International Territories

MGM Inc. and 20th Century Fox have signed a wide-ranging agreement for Fox to distribute MGMís produce ñ theatrically and on VHS and DVD ñ in all international territories.Fox will handle foreign distribution for MGMís extensive 5,000-title library as well as new product. Under the agreement Fox will distribute MGMís movies theatrically outside the U.S. and Canada after November 1, 2000. Fox will distribute MGMís VHS and DVD titles in all territories outside the U.S. and Canada, effective February 1, 2000, when MGMís deal with Warner Home Video expires. (MGM recently paid Warner$225 million to exit their agreement.) The VHS, DVD and theatrical agreements will run through January 31, 2003. MGM will maintain full control of release dates as well as sales and marketing of its titles.
