FDS Labs Announces System For DVD Mastering Of Vintage Films

F.D.S. Labs has announced a DVD mastering system to convert motion pictures from any era from mono or stereo into true 5.1 using the companyís SuperBit Plus II system. According to F.D.S. Labs/Quad Teck Studios the system brings the motion picture soundtrack to life, whether the source is mono, stereo or existing 5.1. Audio is heard clearly, even at low levels, while still maintaining dynamic integrity. In short, the theatre experience is brought into the home environment. F.D.S. notes that one of the challenges in mixing for the big screen lies in creating a mix that will also be adequate for home systems, or creating two completely separate mixes. F.D.S. says their process enables 5.1 sound to be processed into 5.1 that is ideal for the home theater, eliminating the need to go back and remix. The first DVD to make use of the new F.D.S. remastering high-definition digital audio (HDDA) system for 5.1 audio is Warner Home Video's release of ""Wrongfully Accused.""
