Using a high bandwidth multiscan projection engine, the RP5800 can display 480P, 720P, 1080I and 1080P images at native scan rates. In addition, computer resolutions up to 1280 x 1024 progressive can be displayed.The RP5800ís signal processing handles 75MHz bandwidth (1080I HDTV requires 30MHz), and stores up to 32 scan rates. Up to eight aspect ratios can be stored for each scan rate. An Auto-Iris CCD camera system is built in to improve screen set-up and maintain accurate red, green and blue convergence. The optics provide accurate corner-to-corner focus with liquid-coupled lenses, a front-service mirror, and a dual-element Black Stripe screen.A key component in the RP5800 is the inclusion of Faroudjaís award-winning VP250 line processor circuitry. All interlaced NTSC- and PAL-based sources are upconverted to 480P or 580P using Faroudjaís Picture Plusô technology.
