At the ""National Video Week"" (VSDA- Video Software Dealers Association) annual convention in Los Angeles in July, Warren Lieberfarb, President of Warner Home Video, and Benjamin Feingold, President and CEO of Columbia TriStar Home Video, were the only two studio executives on a ""DVD Panel For Retailers."" Lieberfarb appealed to me video retailers again to embrace DVD or Electronic Delivery will take away their business. Feingold said that he agreed with Lieberfarb that Video-On-Demand is coming and the retailers need to work with the studios as partners. Lieberfarb also opened up the discussion of revenue sharing for DVD, a sore issue with independent home video retailers. A large segment of independents feel that revenue sharing has ruined their businesses, placing them in a non-competitive position against the major home video chains.
