Toshiba is now offering an un-branded entry-level DVD-Video player for sale at BrandsMart for $199. Toshiba shipped a similar model last fall at $299, a low price at the time. The $199 price marks the beginning of an impending trend of reduced prices by DVD-player manufacturers that aim to get prices below the magic price-point of $200 by Christmas this year. At such low price points, DVD is certain to flourish in the marketplace.
