Toshibaís new PD42W1U widescreen plasma display is a skinny 3.5 inches deep with a claimed contrast ratio to be the highest in the industry at 550-to-1. The 42 x 25-inch flat-panel display weighs less than 73 pounds and is priced at $12,495.The unit has S-video and RGB inputs as well as composite and is compatible with NTSC, SECAM and PAL sources. The display is fully capable of displaying high-definition TV signals as well.
