Women In Film (WIF) has opened the nomination process for the Kodak Vision Award to be presented at the WIF Lucy Awards luncheon on September 17 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel at 11:30 a.m. Sponsored by Kodak, the award will be given to a female cinematographer with exceptional achievements in narrative television (i.e. sitcom, movie-of-the-week, drama), documentaries, commercials and/or music videos. The deadline for submissions is August 13, 1999.Nominations should include a biography, list of credits, an accompanying letter discussing qualifications and a current reel (any format), if available.""Cinematographers are an important part of the creative team,"" says WIF President Iris Grossman. ""We believe it is important to encourage diversity by recognizing the achievements of talented, female cinematographers. The winner will be selected by a peer group which will also consider each nomineeís commitment to mentoring and assisting other women who are striving to establish careers as cinematographers and camera crew members.""This will be the eight Kodak Vision Award to be presented to an accomplished female cinematographer since its inception in 1996. Past recipients in the TV category include Liz Ziegler, Judy Irola, ASC and Linda Brown.
