Cable Giant TCI Changes Moniker

Cable giant TCI will spend $30 million to change its name to AT&T Cable in its more than 600 cable systems around the country, says Leo Hindery, President and CEO of AT&T Broadband & Internet Services. The name change is expected to help expand TCIís basic cable subscriber base and digital TV and @Home high-speed Internet service. With the name changes, which took effect yesterday, August 3, 1999, TCIís digital TV service became AT&T Digital and its Internet service is now marketed as AT&T@Home.
