Music Interface Technologies (MIT) Revolutionizes Audio/Video Cable Technology (Again) New Tmax/OneWireô System Combines Flexibility, High Performance And Low Cost

MIT has announced the release of the Tmax/OneWireô system for audio, video and data interfacing. True to MIT's tradition of technical leadership and innovation in high-performance cables, Tmax/ OneWireô applies advanced technology to in-wall, and out-of-wall home theatre interfacing. Bruce Brisson, MIT's founder and head of R&D, says that he has developed a system that achieves extraordinary performance from MIT coaxial cable used as a line level cable, speaker cable, video or data cable; all from the same roll of cable - MIT OneWireô RG-59 or RG-6. The keys to this transformation are the Tmaxô Terminator Modules, which employ MIT's patented Terminator and Multi-Network (patent pending) technologies. Each Tmax module type - Interconnect, Speaker, and Super Speaker - optimizes the MIT OneWireô 75 ohm coaxial cable for the specific function required. In practical terms, says, Brisson, an installer or do-it-yourselfer could prewire a number of OneWire coaxial cable runs without having to decide specific functions ahead of time. Later, he/she would simply crimp on an E-pin connector, twist on the appropriate Tmax module and have a superior-performing cable with minimum fuss and no errors. To prevent cable mis-identification, MIT has OneWire CMR CL-2/CL-3-rated double shielded cable available in six colors; blue, white, yellow, green, red, and black (50 cents per foot retail). Complementing the selection of OneWire cables for both in-wall and out-of-wall applications are OneWire HP (High Performance) and OneWire Junior cables. As the name says, OneWire HP is a performance step-up cable (for out-of-wall use) providing, according to Brisson, a more detailed sound, and features a flexible dark gray jacket for a finished look. OneWire Junior is a single-shielded and more economical (30 cents per foot retail) version of OneWire CMR cable (available in black only). Both the OneWire CMR and OneWire Junior cables feature a very high (82 percent) velocity of propagation and gas injected dielectrics providing superior video and data transmission at a fraction of the price of competitive cables. To round out the line, MIT also has available pre-terminated Tmax 1 & 2 meter RCA to RCA Interconnects (with Tmax networks) and OneWire Junior (no networks) F-to-F and RCA to RCA interconnects, as well as a full compliment of connectors for virtually any interfacing application. ""Our goal was to develop a ëuniversaIí wire system that was easy to install, easy to afford, and yet provided the measurable performance benefits that have made MIT cables famous, "" states MIT's Bruce Brisson. ""By developing the TMax Terminator system, we are able to deliver the MIT hallmarks of better bass, clearer midrange, enhanced highs, and lower noise to a greater number of custom installations and home theater users.""
