Paramount Announces Widescreen ""Indiana Jones"" Set

Widescreen editions of the three ""Indiana Jones"" movies are comingÖto VHS. Where are the DVDs? (VSDA) ñ Paramount Home Video has recently announced that they will issue widescreen VHS editions of the three movies in the ""Indiana Jones"" series: ""Raiders Of The Lost Ark"" (1981), ""Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom"" (1984) and ""Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade"" (1989). The VHS set is scheduled to be released on October 26. The cassettes will feature new interviews with director Steven Spielberg, executive producer George Lucas and Indiana Jones himself, Harrison Ford. The retail price has not been set. This will be the VHS debut of widescreen editions. They have, however, been available in widescreen editions on LaserDisc. The widescreen LaserDisc of ""Indiana Jones And The Last Crusade"" was released in 1990 while the first two adventures were remastered in widescreen during 1992. To Paramount and Lucasfilm: Where are the DVDs? Also included in Paramountís Complete Adventures of Indiana Jones Collection will be 12 feature-length TV movies of ""The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles."" This series originally aired on network television before later moving to the Family Channel. The episode were shot at locations around the globe. Additionally, many crewmembers of ""Star Wars: Episode I ñ The Phantom Menace"" began their long-term affiliation with Lucasfilm, including producer Rick McCallum, cinematographer David Tattersall and production designer Gavin Bocquet, on this series.
