PC DTV Basic system consists of a tuner and a decoder. The tuner board accepts ATSC digital terrestrial signals, tunes to requested channels, and passes raw transport streams along to the decoder. The decoder board utilizes Panasonic's newly developed PAVlOO0 AFD decoder chip, which decodes all 18 ATSC video formats and down converts video data to 480 (active) lines progressive scan. The video data is then passed on to the PC's graphics card, where it appears in a floating, scalable window on your desktop. Dolby Digital (AC-3) audio is provided on an SP/DIF output for fu11 5.1 channel home theater sound. Digital AC3 and Analog stereo audio is available to PC's audio card. The system also supports reception of analog television channels. You can tune to NTSC terrestrial or cable channels and view them on a regular NTSC television or on the PC's desktop. PC DTV Premium expands the Basic system's functionality into your family entertainment room. With an upgraded Decoder Board (48Mb additional RDRAM) and an add-on D/A board, you will be able to view ATSC High Definition broadcasts in their original, crystal clear format on an HD Monitor.
