DVD Express Announces Expansion

DVD Express, the on-line DVD retailer, has announced a positioning and content deal with Infoseek. The two-year partnership is valued at 5.3 million dollars. The company also signed a site deal with MSN but no specifics were available at press time. This new expansion builds on the September announcements of partnerships with AOL and AltaVista. Since then, orders have doubled from 10,1000 to over 20,000 per week. Additionally, the company reports that sales have increased tenfold over last December 1997. DVD Express will be featured in the main entetainment areas of the Infoseek portal. Infoseek visitors will have access to DVD Expressí virtual store front and searchable database of over 2,800 DVD titles, amazingly at up to 40 percent off. Infoseek will feature DVD Express primarily in entertainment, movies, and video spotlight home pages as well as through Infoseekís UltraMatch program that matches their userís profile to that of a DVD customer. DVD Express will also serve Infoseek as a DVD movie review and home entertainment information resorce. DVD Express will be featured as well in the shopping/music and video areas of the MSN portal.
