Cheaper Digital Discs On The Way

The Tokyo business daily Nihon Keizai has reported that Sony and Nippon Zeon Co., a synthetic resins maker, have developed a new method to manufacturer CDs, CD-ROMs DVDs and DVD-ROMs that could reduce their costs by 30-40 percent. Instead of an aluminum base, the new discs feature a substrate of synthetic resins.
