America Online has become the latest media company to invest in digital TV recording company TiVo Inc. through a deal to partner TiVo with AOLís planned interactive TV service. Future versions of TiVoís set-top boxes will be equipped to access AOL for the planned interactive service that will include key segments of online AOL offerings as well as new TV-specific features.""We see TiVo as a great way to help us deliver our hallmark ñ ease of use and convenience ñ to television,"" said Bob Pittman, President and Chief Operating Officer of AOL Inc.The TiVo set-top box sells for $500-$1,000 and feature storage capacity of 10-30 hours. TiVo charges a monthly fee of about $10 for its service as well, but through certain sign-up incentives, TiVoís monthly service fee can be waived.
