Escient, Inc., a leader in the convergence field, has announced the introduction of its new dual drive 200-disc DVD changer for Power Macintosh G3 computers. Developed by Escientís Digital Storage Group, this unique FireWireÆ supported Macintosh peripheral provides mm more than one terabyte of digital storage space. All operations, including reading the contents of a disc, are handled via the Macintoshís operating system. In order to locate and load a disc, one simply drags the desired file onto the desktop. Escientís C200 DVD changer offers technologically advanced storage, control, and management capabilities. It can also distribute media to numerous shared clients over a network. The browser provides each client with a combined list of all media in every changer. Up to 63 changers can be daisy-chained together in a tree configuration for media distribution to other workstations throughout a network.
