JVC Consolidates Projection Efforts

JVC said it will establish its Digital Image Technology Center in Carlsbad, California this fall to serve as the core of its projection TV development efforts and to expand worldwide sales.The facility will consolidate JVCís projector sales divisions and the Hughes-JVC Image Light Amplifier (ILA) technology and service functions, the company said. Primary management of large-size ILA projectors for professional markets, currently handled by Hughes, will be transferred to JVC, which will continue work on a consumer version. JVC said it expects greater efficiency from its investments through the effort and ""looks for a 15 percent increase in annual sales.""
