""Titanic"" Ships 1 Million DVDs

""Titanic"" has set yet another record, this time on the DVD home video platform. The movie has become the first DVD title to ship more than 1 million units to retailers, according to Paramount Home Video. It is also the first of the 10 top-grossing movies of all time to be released on DVD and the first of Paramount's biggest blockbusters - including ""Forrest Gump,"" ""Ghost"" and the ""Indiana Jones"" and ""Godfather"" franchises - to be released on DVD. ""Titanic,"" which goes on sale Tuesday, is expected to be the first DVD title to exceed consumer sales of 500,000 units. Unfortunately, the title does not take full advantage of the picture quality potential of DVD in that ""Titanic"" is being released in letterbox-only, not anamorphic widescreen.
