TASCAM Announces Development And Co-Branding Agreement With TimeLine
24-Track Disk Recorder, Synchronizer Introduced at 107TH AES Convention TASCAM, a world leader in professional audio products and related accessories, announces that it has entered into a new long-term audio product development agreement with TimeLine. The new development agreement will result in a line of professional audio products that will carry both the TASCAM and TimeLine brand names. The arrangement draws on the considerable market experience of both companies with new product specifications developed cooperatively by TASCAM and TimeLine. Products created as a result of the joint product development process will be sold and marketed by TASCAM, with product hardware and software engineering handled by TimeLine. The first results of this new cooperative arrangement are the MX-2424 digital disk recorder and the TL-Sync machine synchronizer, which were introduced for the first time at the 107th AES Convention in New York. The MX-2424 is a stand-alone hard disk recorder that features 24-tracks of 24-bit digital audio recording and playback at 48 kHz or 12 channels at 96 kHz. The TL-Sync synchronizer provides machine and digital clocking functions and can be used in combination with the MX-2424 or as a stand-alone synchronization tool. These units have a distinctive new look and will carry the designation ""TASCAM by TimeLine"" on the front panel. TimeLine has also created ViewNetô, a graphical interface especially for the MX-2424. ViewNet allows graphical editing of projects and setup of system parameters for multiple MX-2424 units via a Fast Ethernet connection. The software runs on both Macintosh- and Windows-based computer systems. These new products are slated for release in early 2000.
