TASCAM Introduces DA-78HR 8-Track Recorder/Player

The DA-78HR provides the fixed install and live audio recording and mixing engineers the opportunity of digital recording at advanced high-resolution levels for the best possible sound-at an unbeatable price point. In High-Resolution mode, the unit will record and playback all eight tracks at 24-bit resolution, 44.1 kHz or 48 kHz sample rates. As 24-bit becomes the new standard for music, DVD and other surround sound oriented productions, the DA-78HR gives the artist the opportunity to capture performances at the very highest quality level to insure the best sonic results when the tracks are combined and mixed. To facilitate the ultimate in creative flexibility, the DA-78HR features a built-in 8x2 MIDI compatible mixer that offers volume and pan control over all eight tracks. The MIDI interface allows the unit to remotely perform in every situation, from a home recording environment to a world class mega-studio, responding to sequencer or MIDI controller commands. Mixes can be routed to two tracks of the existing tape (due to the built-in read before write function) or to any digital recorder, DAT or computer with an S/PDIF interface.
