Sharp Introduces A New Portable DVD Player With The Largest LCD Screen, Longest Battery Life, and Lightest Weight

Sharp has introduced what is said to be lightest and most compact portable DVD player available with a 7-inch LCD screen, the DV-L70U. Delivering an extended 3-hour battery life, sleek design, and enhanced performance - including a 16:9 (1.78:1) widescreen ratio and Virtual DolbyÆ Surround (Q-Surround). Measuring just 7.4-inch X 5.6-inch X 1-inch, the DV-L70U is only slightly larger than a DVD jewel case. The unit weights at just over a pound without the battery (2.37 pounds with battery). The DV-L70U also allows system building with other devices that have S-video, composite video, or audio inputs, enabling top quality DVD images to other TVs or monitors. In addition, output from a video camera can be played back through the DV-L70U for crystal clear, convenient viewing on the player's large LCD screen. The player is also equipped with a built-in optical digital audio output jack compatible with bit-stream output for DTSÆ Digital Surround or Dolby Digital, the DV-L70U easily lets consumers match the system environment of an existing audio system.
