The figures are in. The custom Electronic Design and Installation Association (CEDIA) hosted a record 12,700 custom electronics industry leaders for CEDIAEXPO í99 from September 22-26 at the Indianapolis Convention Center. At the CEDIA EXPO í99 Awards Banquet, industry leaders received recognition for their contribution over the past year. Tom Doherty, Inc. of Indianapolis, Indiana won in the category of ""Best Home Theatre Electronics System Design Over $150,000"" for his unique state-of-the-art system in Escient CEO, Scott Jonesí home. Designed by Theo Kalomirakis & Associates (who also won for "" Best Home Theatre Architecture Design""), the Scott Jones theatre represents the largest home theatre project Genelec has been involved in to date, and features a wide-range of Genelec speakers, including: the new 3.1 kW per channel 1036Aís as the roomís main L-C-R array; five 360 Watt per channel S30Cís for the side and rear; and two 400 Watt 1094Aís for rear and side channel subs to augment the bass in the theatre. The control room, which houses all the electronics, provides the opportunity (with a video monitor and small Genelec HT205 monitors) to preview video and audio sources before they are shown on the main screen. In addition, the theatre includes a Runco VX-3 projector with Snell & Wilco interpolator for viewing on the massive 16ft. X 9ft. screen. Movies and music-on-demand are provided with cutting-edge CD and DVD storage system from Escient.
