Pioneer Rebate DVD Offer

Looking to hang on to its share of the explosive DVD player market amid unprecedented entry-level pricing from third-tier manufactures this holiday season, Pioneer Electronics announced a one-time $50 rebate on its model DV-414 and DV-525 DVD-Video players. The consumer rebate program applies to either model purchased between November 1, 1999 and January 2, 2000. Pioneer said rebate forms would be available via countertop displays at retailers nationwide or by printing the form directly form the companyís Web site (www.pioneerelectronics.com). The DV-525 currently is advertised at street prices of $279.95, while the DV-414 is typically offered at $429.95. In announcing the program, Pioneer said it estimates industry DVD sales will increase 400-450 percent over the same time last year, becoming the fastest growing consumer electronics product ever. According to a company announcement, ""This rebate allows more consumers to experience the nearly 5,000-and-growing DVD software titles in a way traditionally only made possible by top movie houses. Pioneerís offer complements recent title-release announcements, whereby now all major film studios support the DVD format."" Source: TWICE
