Sonance, the Leader in Architectural Audioô, introduces its Sonance Silhouetteô speaker series, representing the next evolution of high performance in-wall speakers. The Sonance Silhouette speaker line, which includes three models, has a unique elongated aluminum extrusion that easily fits within standard wall construction to create a revolutionary space saving design. The elegantly slim speakers ñtrue works of art- represent the companyís commitment to the advancement of high-end, high-quality, high-fidelity in-wall loudspeaker development.""Weíre excited to introduce the Sonance Silhouette series, which has truly evolved in-wall speaker design,"" said Chip Brown, Chief Operating Officer, Sonance. ""Sonance prides itself as a leader in architectural audio, and the Sonance Silhouette models are proof we can design and manufacture exceptional speaker systems that are integral to a homeís interior design while delivering high-end sonic performance. This line of products will have broad appeal- architects and interior designers will like its slim profile, audiophiles will enjoy its technology and performance and installers will appreciate its easy installation.""By combining innovative drive technology with a sophisticated crossover design, Sonance Silhouette speakers deliver sonic performance previously limited to high-end, free-standing speakers. The Sonance Silhouette design approach eliminates the coloration caused by drywall vibration by isolating critical speaker components from the wall itself. The array design for the tweeter and two midrange drivers offers a controlled vertical dispersion pattern which keeps the listener in the speakersí ""sweet spot,"" whether seated or standing. The arrayís unique enclosure is mounted to a 1-inch thick baffle, which is then coupled with a rigid aluminum frame to control resonance. The speakers are comprised of an elliptical 6-inch wide aluminum cone woofer, a 4-inch cast magnesium cone midrange and a 1-inch high-fidelity concave titanium dome tweeter with glass fiber reinforced polymer chassis. The 4-inch midrange driver design was chosen after scientific research into the interaction between drywall components and loudspeakers revealed that the drywall/stud interface is most susceptible to resonance in the 150Hz to 200Hz band. The Sonance Silhouetteís 4-inch midrange drivers allow a crossover point at 135Hz, below this resonance frequency.Sonance Silhouette is available in three models: the Sonance silhouette (SL1936) is 36 inches tall and has one woofer and the tweeter midrange array; the Sonance Silhouette II (SL2946) is 46 inches tall and features two woofers and the array; and the Sonance Silhouette III (SL4966) is 66 inches tall and features four woofers and the array.Target retail pricing has been set at $3,500 for a pair of Sonance Silhouette I, $4,500 for a pair of Sonance Silhouette II and $6,000 per pair of Sonance Silhouette III.
