Progressive ProntoVision HDTV Uncompressed Digital Disk Recorder
DVC Digital Video Computing GmbH, the European Master Distributor for Digitalvideo Solutions, has announced new features now available for the multi-standard, one of a kind, ProntoVision HDTV uncompressed digital disk recorder. The ProntoVision now supports the following progressive HD production standards: 1080p 24Hz segmented frame 1080p 23.97Hz segmented frame 1080p 24Hz 1:1-progressive 1080i 50Hz interlaced System Background Designed as a multi-standard uncompressed storage system, the ProntoVision now allows simultaneous storage of progressive and interlaced HD, D5 and D1 material through its partitioned high-speed disk array. As the only uncompressed HD DDR with real-time digital and analog video interface and Ultra Wide SCSI host interface, the ProntoVision can deliver more than 3 hours of uncompressed HDTV storage. It includes RS422 ports for VTR master control and emulation for seamless integration into a digital studio environment. For network integration ProntoVision now comes with the new vvfs virtual video file system and supports NT, Linux, sgi and Sun. The capability to insert and remove 3:2 pull-down makes the ProntoVision an efficient and powerful tool in handling film originated HD material.
