DigiVision Introduces New Video Enhancement System

Patented Technology Redefines Home Theatre Image Quality

DigiVision, Inc., the worldís leading manufacturer of real-time video enhancement equipment for the past fifteen years for medical, industrial and defense applications, announces the introduction of its first system designed specifically for home theatre applications. The new HT-70e Picture Enhancement System incorporates DigiVisionís patented V-LACEô Enhancement technology to deliver video images of unsurpassed sharpness and detail. The HT-70e, which is appropriate for use with either front or rear projection systems or direct-view monitor receivers with component or S-video inputs, provides home theater aficionados with an unprecedented degree of pixel-level control over video image definition and clarity. V-LACE (Video ñ Locally Adaptive Contrast Enhancement) originally developed by DigiVision to assist endoscopic surgeons in making informed, successful decisions in real-time critical care situations. Unlike other video systemsí ""blanket"" adjustment options which affects all picture elements to the same degree, V-LACE implements a proprietary algorithmic framework that achieves a remarkably sharp, crisp picture by adjusting each pixel in relationship to its neighborhood of pixels (Kernel). Easy-to-operate controls on the front panel allow the viewer to personalize and optimize the video image from any original source. The controls include Enhance / Pass-Through Operation, Definition Up / Down (Enhancement Gain Control), and Kernel Up / Down (2D Filter Size). The rear-panel offers input and output connectors for S-video (mini-DIN) and inputs and outputs for component video (RCA) all with heavy duty brass gold-plated jacks or optional composite I/O adapter. A wireless remote control further enhances ease of use, offering access to all front-panel functions, as well as the RS-232 port on the rear panel for Creston-style access to all system functions. For demonstration and comparison purposes, the HT-70e offers a unique split-screen function that produces a standard NTSC left-side image juxtaposed with a right-side DigiVision-enhanced image. Installation of the DigiVision HT-70e is very straightforward. The systemís all-metal chassis is rack-mountable with a separately available kit. The HT-70e measures 2.8 inches high, 17 inches wide and 13 inches deep and has a suggested retail price of $2,000.
