Levitonís Industrial Products Division Introduces New Line Of Horsepower-Rated Motor Starting Switches
Levitonís new line of Industrial AC Motor Starting Switches are designed to provide positive ON/OFF control for a variety of horsepower-rated motor loads and other general purpose loads. The switches include 30 Amp and 40 Amp AC Manual Motor Starting Switches and a 40 Amp Welder Starting Switch. The new switches meet UL508 motor control requirements. They feature toggle and cam mechanisms molded from rugged thermoplastic construction to assure superior resistance to repeated impact, chemical degradation, and temperature extremes. 30 Amp and 40 Amp Manual Motor Starting Switches are available in double-pole, single-throw and three-phase, single-throw configurations, with ratings from 2-20 Horsepower at 600V AC. These devices provide switching control for a wide variety of inductive and resistive loads in industrial MRO applications, including conveyor lines, machinery, air compressors, HV AC, blowers, large fans, welders and other single or three-phase, motor-operated equipment. The 40 Amp Welder Starting Switch is available in a double-pole, single-throw configuration rated 5 Horsepower at 250V AC. It provides switching control for industrial OEM applications such as portable welders or single-phase inductive and resistive loads and is bulk packaged for OEM high-volume assembly. Levitonís new Manual Motor Starting and Welder Starting Switches feature a patent-pending stall-resistant cam design with a fast-make/slow-break positive-contact mechanism to minimize contact bouncing and arcing upon switch closure and also limit contact ""teasing"" upon separation. A free-travel toggle design protects close contacts from accidental disengagement. Back and side-wire terminals accepts up to #10 AWG solid wire and up to #8 stranded wire with multi-gang applications.
