Toshiba Projection TVs Lead The Industry With 21st Century Technology And Features

With a host of todayís most advanced picture-enhancing and performance features, Toshiba projection TVs provide consumers with the brightest, clearest large-screen images, along with a broad range of choice in screen sizes, features and pricing. In addition to the companyís industry-leading HDTV-Ready projection sets and integrated widescreen HDTV model (see related press release), Toshibaís TheaterView projection TV line includes high-performance 61-, 55- and 50-inch 4:3 analog sets, as well as two 43-inch ultra-slim tabletop models specially designed for the smaller living spaces. To ensure the best possible picture quality from digital signal sources such as DVD and DTV set-top receivers, all Toshiba analog projection sets feature ColorStream component video inputs. Advanced Toshiba Technology For Super-Sharp Images All Toshiba projection TVs utilize advanced digital technologies to deliver crystal clear pictures with unsurpassed brightness and color realism. Key to the improved picture quality of many Toshiba projection TVs is the companyís new PowerFocus lens system, which provides dramatically increased resolution and brightness. Working in conjunction with the PowerFocus lens are high-performance PowerFocus Cathode Ray Tubes (CRTs). PowerFocus CRTs incorporate a unique fine phosphor for purer color reproduction. In addition, dynamic quadruple focus keeps the picture razor-sharp at all points on the screen, especially at the edges and corners where precise focus is most critical. Further enhancing picture quality, all Toshiba projection TVs feature the companyís new Multi-Linear Digital Focus convergence system. With Multi-Linear Digital Focus, 168 separate convergence points (56 x 3) are set by a computer at the factory, ensuring crisp, clearly focused projection TV images. For fine tuning, viewers can use their remote control to adjust focus at nine areas on the screen, making it easy for anyone to achieve virtually perfect corner-to-corner focus. Toshibaís super-slim projection TVs also include such advanced performance and convenience features as an expanded Super Jack Pack for total home theatre connectivity and advanced MultiWindow dual-tuner PIP. TheaterBright Screens For Enhanced Picture Quality Toshibaís projection sets are among the industryís brightest-ever projection TVs, thanks to their newly developed TheaterBright projection screens, which feature a fine 0.7 millimeter screen pitch for high resolution and a Surface Level Diffuser that enhances brightness and contrast while providing viewers with a wide 160-degree viewing angle. Toshiba has also added a new Corner Diffuser Enhancer for increased corner brightness and enhanced brightness uniformity. First-Surface Mirrors For Brighter, Clearer Pictures Many new Toshiba projection TVs, including all Cinema Series models, also benefit from the companyís image-improving First-Surface mirror technology. With a First-Surface projection TV mirror, the reflective material is placed on the outer layer of the glass, eliminating any image distortion or ghosting that can occur from unwanted refraction. Convenience Is Top Priority For the ultimate in user convenience, Toshiba projection TVs include compass-type cursor controls on both the remote control and the TV cabinet for simple access to the full range of functions in the Tri-Lingual Icon-Based On-Screen Display. Select projection models also include front S-video inputs in addition to the two rear-panel S-video inputs. To further enhance the home theater experience, Toshibaís TheaterView projection TVs feature powerful audio systems, including built-in front surround sound and the Sub Bass System (SBS). Toshibaís SBS selectively boosts key bass frequenciesówithout muffling or distortionóto add extra bass resonance to dialog, music and special home theater sound effects.
