Pioneer Electronics Introduces Four Affordably Priced Full Featured Audio Video Receivers
Pioneer Electronics continues to define the Advanced Home Theater concept, with the introduction of four new (VSX-509S, VSX-D409, VSX-D309, and VSX-D209) new advanced Audio Video Receivers. With features such as Dolby Digital/DTS processing, S-video switching and 5.1 channel inputs these new models offer consumers the flexibility and power required for todayís home theater needs. All models feature Pioneerís 5-Channel Accurate Imaging System, which provides equal amplifier power to all channels, eliminating the possibility of one channel dominating a particular sound field. All five amplifiers are of discrete configuration for low distortion, and are capable of handling Dolby Digital/DTSís full bandwidth. Dolby Digital and DTS decoding is included on three (VSX-D509S, VSX-D409, and VSX-D309) of these four new models, and the fourth, (VSX-D209) features Dolby ProLogic decoding. All of these new receivers feature 5.1 channel inputs for adding future 6-channel formats such as DVD-Audio and multi-channel Super Audio CD. All of the Dolby Digital/DTS models also include Pioneerís exclusive Midnight Mode and a newly introduced Expanded Theater Mode. Midnight Mode allows consumers to still enjoy the fidelity and clarity of Dolby Digital and DTS surround movies at a lower volume than normal while not waking or disturbing anyone in the house. Expanded Theater greatly improves the front/rear soundstage of any Dolby Digital/DTS/ProLogic encoded material. Also contained in all the Dolby Digital/DTS receivers is a new DSP feature set called Advanced Theater, which enhances multi-channel soundtracks. Whether itís an action, drama or comedy movie, Advanced Theater works in conjunction with the surround decoder, enhancing sound field design by use of an adjustable Digital Signal Processor. To maintain future compatibility all of the Dolby Digital/DTS receivers have multiple assignable digital inputs (both coaxial and optical). The VSX-D509S even provides a digital output for easy connection to a CD/MD recorder. Finally, all new models come with either a standard remote or a preset/learning remote making remote operation a snap.
