Pioneer Electronics Expands Elite HDTV Offerings With A New 64-Inch Rear Projection Television

Reinforcing their commitment to the HDTV format for Advanced Home Theater, Pioneer Elite introduces the industryís most highly developed HDTV rear projection television to date. This new TV brings a new level of quality to the HDTV world with exclusive technologies such as PureCinema film detection, 72-point user adjustable convergence, multi-scan high resolution CRTs, and a 6500x Kelvin color temperature setting. The PRO-710HD is built with a 16:9 (1.78:1) aspect ratio and has a 64-inch diagonal screen size. To maintain compatibility with the various aspect ratios of todayís video sources this new Pioneer Elite TV features five different screen mode settings. Pioneers acclaimed IP converter has gone through a dramatic change this year incorporating advanced features such as 2:3 pulldown film detection and NTSC to 480 progressive conversion. This newly enhanced circuit uses progressive conversion to boost the NTSC picture quality from sources such as DVD, LaserDisc, and Satellite an impressive eight times. To accomplish this, it first doubles the interlaced signal to a VGA level (640x480). It then doubles the information content both vertically and horizontally, resulting in an amazing increase in original signal density. Combined with the High-Definition resolution of the CRTs, this technology ensures an exceptionally smooth and stunning picture. Another new feature found on the PRO-710HD is a technology called PureCinema. PureCinema detects a NTSC 3/2 film-based source, then recreates each individual still film frame. This method accurately reproduces images close to the original source quality with astonishing clarity. To maintain accurate convergence without the need of a technician, this new model incorporates the most accurate user adjustable convergence system available. With up to 72 different alignment points consumers are guaranteed a distortion free picture. The PRO-710HD features an expansion slot for adding the optional SH-D09 HDTV tuner pack. This method of adding a HDTV tuner provides seamless integration of the tuner and does not tie up any of the external video inputs. To provide compatibility with various other HDTV and progressive video sources these new sets has two component/progressive RCA type inputs as well as a D-Sub 15 RGB connection. With the growing popularity of in-wall television installations, Pioneer Electronics has built all of the Pioneer Elite televisions with removable kick-panels, speaker grills, and control covers providing easy flush mounting. A unique full screen infrared receiver has been employed as well. Other video features of the PRO-710HD include: - Dual NTSC tuners with Picture-out-of-Picture, Split-Screen displays, and 3 or 9 multi - Adjustable Scan Velocity Modulation which provides three settings Off, Mid, High - Adjustable 3-Dimensional Comb Filter (5 Levels) - Adjustable 3-Dimensional Noise Reduction (5 Levels) - Color Noise Reduction (On or Off) - Auto Flesh-Tone for non-31.5Khz sources to provide accurate fleshtones from over-the-air broadcasts - .52mm Super Fine Pitch Screen for razor-sharp image reproduction - Auto Screen Mode, which automatically senses the incoming signal and chooses the correct screen mode.
