McIntosh Salutes Two-Channel Audio Enthusiasts With A Bevy Of New Products - C41 Control Center, MC202 Power Amplifier, MC352 Power Amplifier, MC602 Power Amplifier, MA6500 Integrated Amplifier

Designed To Excite The Traditional Two-Channel Market, These New Components Also Integrate With Home Theatre And Custom Installation Markets As Well

McIntosh Laboratories has been a world leader in two-channel home entertainment for more than 50 years. McIntosh components are often passed on from one generation to the nextÖ a testament to their ultimate desirability, longevity of performance and inestimable pride of ownership. It is with this legacy in mind that McIntosh proudly introduces a new family of two-channel masterpieces to entertain and thrill enthusiasts old and new. The C41 Control Center becomes McIntoshís most affordable system control center with balanced inputs and outputs at a suggested retail price of $2,500. The C41 is a remote-controlled preamplifier that features Balanced Input and Output, Dual Processor Loop, Illuminated Peak-Responding Wattmeters with Hold and Serial Data Output Ports. The C41 can also serve as the heart of a full A/V system by simply adding the MVS-3 Video Control Center and the MSD4 Surround Sound Decoder. The C41 also includes the exclusive McIntosh Tone Control Circuit whereby the center detent position removes all tone control components from the circuit. There are nine program sources provided for: Phono/Aux., CD1, CD2, Tuner, Tape 1, Tape 2, Tape 3, and Video with separate input selection for both Record and Listen. The MC202 Power Amplifier provides 200 watts per channel into 2, 4 or 8 ohm loads from 20Hz to 20kHz. With a suggested retail price of $3,200 the Mc202 is the least expensive amplifier with the exclusive McIntosh output Autoformer design. The proprietary Power Guard circuit prevents harsh sounding clipping and helps protect speakers from damage. As is typical for McIntosh amplifier design, the distortion is so low that it defies measurement, even with the finest distortion analyzers. At midfrequencies, with an 8 ohm load, the distortion meter reads the residual distortion of the oscillator (0.0002%) with or without the Mc202 in the circuit. This means the amplifier distortion is lower than the analyzer is capable of measuring. The MC202 has been designed with over 100 joules of energy storage. Huge main filter capacitors guarantee an excellent signal-to-noise ratio and the energy storage necessary for the wide dynamic range that todayís music and soundtracks demand. The MC202 also comes with Remote Power Control, a circuit that enables a McIntosh preamp or control center to operate a power relay in the MC202. There is also a Power Control Output jack that delays the signal a fraction of a second so that the turn-on surge of the next power amplifier occurs later. This practical circuit allows the home owner to use just one power switch to power up the entire audio system. The C41 Control Center and the MC202 Power Amplifier create an awesome home entertainment system for $5,700 retail. This combination was designed to be one of the industries best home entertainment values. The MC352 Power Amplifier is a masterpiece of amplifier design and construction. Providing an impressive 350 watts into 8, 4 or 2 ohm loads, the MC352 is a Balanced Push-Pull design, meaning it is fully balanced from input to output. Two matched amplifiers operate in Push-Pull with their outputs combined in the ""Output Autoformer."" Each half of the amplifier contains complimentary balanced circuitry. The resulting double balanced configuration cancels virtually all distortion. This circuit is possible ONLY with the exclusive McIntosh Output Autoformer. The MC352 is capable of more than 200 joules of energy storage, enabling incredible performance even in the face of the most demanding program material. The MC352 can provide more than 10 amperes peak output current to drive uneven speaker loads. It can deliver over One Kilowatt output on tone bursts. Much more detail may be found in the attached data sheet. The MC352 carries a suggested retail price of $4,500 and is currently available. The MC602 Power Amplifier is one of the most powerful amplifiers in the world and certainly among the best sounding. Sharing much of the proprietary engineering designs found in the MC202 and the MC352, the MC602 is simply a monster amplifier. Providing a minimum of 600 watts per channel into 8, 4 or 2 ohm loads, the MC602 operates at distortion levels so small they defy measurement - .0002%. With over 200 joules of energy storage, the MC602 is capable of excellent signal to noise ratio and energy storage for truly wide dynamic range program material. Remarkably, with all this power capability, the MC602 needs no fans for cooling. Thanks to the highly efficient amplifying circuit which produces relatively little heat for the power output produced, natural convection air flow is sufficient for cooling. The MC602 has four oversize heatsinks to dissipate transistor-generated heat. Like the MC202 and the MC352, the MC602 features Remote Power Control, McIntoshí exclusive Power Guard circuit, the famous back-lit blue meters and the world-famous McIntosh sound. The MC602 has a suggested retail price of $8,000 and is available currently. Please refer to the attached data sheet for more detail. In the world of five-figure State-Of-The-Art amplifiers, the MC602 ranks up there with some of the greatest values in high fidelity history. The Ma6500 Integrated Amplifier was designed for those purveyors of high quality home entertainment that didnít have the room for a separate component amplifier and preamplifier. On one modest chassis, the MA6500 combines the performance and control of a typical McIntosh Control Center with an awesome 200-watt-per-channel McIntosh power amplifier. The MA6500 provides for Six Program Source Selections and features the exclusive McIntosh Tone Control Circuit, Serial Data Output Ports, the McIntosh Power Guard circuit and much more. The MA6500 is easily adapted for a full-featured A/V system by the addition of the MVS3 Video Switcher. Available now and carrying a suggested retail price of $3,000, the MA6500 Integrated Amplifier offers the best combination of performance and price that can be found in the high quality home entertainment marketplace today. In an era where the rate of change is as amazing as the changes themselves, McIntosh is all the more remarkable. Even after celebrating its fiftieth anniversary, the McIntosh brand continues to represent high performance, superlative engineering and limitless pride of ownership. The hand craftsmanship and pursuit of detail that McIntosh is famous for continue to be key values found in every piece of equipment.
