Runco Brings DLP Performance To A New Level Of Affordability

Runco International, recognized as one of the worldís technology leaders in high-performance large-screen video displays, is pleased to introduce an entry-level model into its Reflection Series of refined subcompact video projectors. Runcoís newest model, Reflectionô VX-101, is based on the latest evolution of Digital Light Processor (DLPô) technology developed by Texas Instruments. The Reflection VX-101 emphasizes usability, flexibility, and value. This most affordable member of the sophisticated DLP line promises to widen significantly the appeal of home theater for first-time buyers and budget-conscious video enthusiasts. ""The Reflection VX-101 brings genuine high-end imaging with large screen impact to an entirely new group of home-theater enthusiasts,"" says Director of Marketing, Liz Pemble. ""Breaking the $10,000 barrier by a considerable margin with a design that delivers terrific resolution and equally noteworthy livability, we look forward to introducing real Runco video performance to numerous new fans."" The Runco Reflection VX-101 features a single-chip DLP imaging engine that creates near-high-definition visuals on screens up to 300 inches (diagonal). And with an impressive light output of 800 ANSI lumens, the Reflection VX-101 has enough ""punch"" to maintain its impressive look on larger screens, even in rooms where higher ambient light must be tolerated. Runcoís ""mighty miniature"" reproduces both conventional and anamorphic/widescreen programs with full widescreen breadth, and with its SVGA native resolution and 1024x768-pixel data compatibility, the Reflection VX-101 is completely DTV-compatible, providing large-screen impact and improved-definition imaging to digital television. The new Reflection VX-101 offers video input via composite or S-video connection and accepts RGB input via standard 15-pin computer-style cabling for DTV and SVGA computer-graphics display. Adding to its remarkable setup ease and accuracy, the Reflection VX-101 includes easy vertical position-shift allowing flexible placement for widescreen imaging as well as a wide-ranging zoom lens that can be quickly configured for floor or ceiling installations. And of course, since itís a DLP-based projector, the Reflection VX-101 never requires convergence adjustments in order to deliver its best performance. Factor in its astonishingly small footprint and amazingly modest weight, and you have the most consumer-friendly high-performance front-projection display ever built for the serious home-theater buff. The Reflection VX-101 is also compatible with Runcoís new VX-Controller, which expands the capabilities of this projector to accommodate letterbox, anamorphic, and 4:3 (1.33:1) images on the viewerís wide aspect ratio screen-offering all the benefits of a wide screen without sacrificing aspect ratio control. The VX-Controller is an interlace to progressive scaler that combines 10 bit decoding with inverse telecine detection (3:2 pulldown) to virtually eliminate all motion artifacts. As a result, the VX-Controller produces cleaner, higher resolution video imaging than any processor on the market today.
