American Technology Successfully Debuts New SFT Speaker Designs At CES 2000
American Technology Corp. (NASDAQ: ATCO) announced today that its SFT, thin-panel speaker technology produced outstanding response during meetings with new and existing prospective licensees at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2000 in Las Vegas. The company demonstrated its audibly superior, flexible, thin-panel SFT speaker designs to key global consumer audio companies in its technology suite. ATC President and Chief Executive Officer Con Brosnan stated, ""Many global manufacturers of consumer electronics and Hi-Fi equipment held in-depth meetings on ATCO's SFTô speaker technology during the show. Many heard the new second generation of the technology for the first time and requested evaluation samples for immediate shipment to their laboratories. This is a significant step in the licensing process which we expect will move forward rapidly. Our second generation product has improved loudness which, when coupled with the high fidelity we have always had, opens the market for true Hi-Fi applications. New and existing potential licensees were impressed with our quality and were excited about the new industrial design (ID) concepts and potential we shared with them. The company also announced today that sales of its consumer products in the December quarter totaled $566,592, a number that represents over 70 percent of total consumer product sales for all of fiscal 1999 (ended September 30, 1999). The December quarter sales represent an increase of more than 300 percent over the same quarter last year. Retail distribution for the FM Soundsô product line is expanding, and interest remains very strong. Our consumer products booth on the show floor (at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES)) in Las Vegas over the weekend was filled with prospects, and we are following up now to process and fulfill new orders for this quarter.""
