""Pie"" Serves Up 1 Million DVDs
""American Pie"" has become the latest DVD title to join the elite 1 million-unit club. Universal Studios Home Video has shipped the 1 millionth copy of the movie that was the top-selling title in its first two weeks of release last month and the second best-selling title the past two weeks, according to the VideoScan data tracking service. The title's strong sales led to overall DVD software sales for the week ending January 9 of nearly 1 million units, about 25 percent of the slightly more than 4 million copies of all programs on VHS that were sold during the same week, according to VideoScan.
