DVD International And Digital Circus To Produce First-Ever ""Made For"" DVD Feature Film; ""The Watcher"" To Be Filmed As Both Linear And Interactive Production

DVD International, a leading independent DVD supplier, and Aftermath Media, producers of the best-selling DVD ""Tender Loving Care,"" are teaming up for the industry's premier ""made for"" DVD film. ""The Watcher,"" which will begin production in March, 2000 (under Aftermath Media's new Digital Circus banner), will be produced both as a linear theatrical release, and as an interactive DVD. The announcement was made today by David Goodman, President, DVD International, and David Wheeler, co-founder, Aftermath Media. ""While 'Tender Loving Care' has been heralded for its creative innovation and use of technology, we've barely scratched the surface,"" said Wheeler. ""DVD technology has allowed my partner, Rob Landeros, and me to apply our computer based interactivity to mainstream movie making in a form the public is quite willing to embrace."" ""With 'The Watcher,' Digital Circus is taking digital filmmaking to a new level,"" said Goodman. ""The Watcher"" will take advantage of the high-tech digital equipment that has made Aftermath Media innovators in the industry. The film will be recorded on Digital BetaCam, allowing the producers to shoot the production entirely with natural lighting. Following the completion of the film, Wheeler and partner Rob Landeros will spend the next nine months incorporating interactive properties for the film's DVD release. The entire production will then be transferred to film for theatrical release. DVD International will have exclusive worldwide rights to the interactive program, releasing ""The Watcher"" worldwide on DVD. ""The Watcher"" is a contemporary, edgy urban story about obsession, art, eroticism and murder. It follows the story of a beautiful and mysterious artist named Jane, a recluse who expresses herself only through her art.
