Sonance, the Leader in Architectural Audio(tm), introduces its award-winning Innovations 2000 Sonance Silhouette(tm) speaker series, representing the next evolution of high performance in-wall speakers. The Sonance Silhouette speaker line, which includes three models, has a unique elongated aluminum extrusion that easily fits within standard wall construction to create a revolutionary space-saving design. The elegant slim speakers - true works of art - represent the companyís commitment to the advancement of high-end, high-quality, high-fidelity in-wall loudspeakers. The Sonance Silhouette also builds upon a solid Sonance heritage as the latest innovation in a long line of architectural audio ìfirsts.î ìWeíre excited to introduce the Sonance Silhouette series, which has truly evolved in-wall speaker design,î said Chip Brown, chief operating officer, Sonance. ìSonance prides itself as a leader in architecture audio, and the Sonance Silhouette models are proof we can design and manufacture exceptional speaker systems that are integral to a homeís interior design while delivering high-end sonic performance.îThe Sonance Silhouette is expected to have broad appeal - architects and interior designers will like its slim profile, audiophiles will enjoy its technology and performance and installers will appreciate its easy installation.ìThe Sonance Silhouette clearly communicates the positioning of Sonance and its products as first in the world and best in class,î Brown said. ìAlso, our ëhigh-touchí dedication to providing customers with the finest high-fidelity loudspeakers on the market, is evident with the debut of the Sonance Silhouette.îBy combining innovative drive technology with sophisticated crossover design, Sonance Silhouette speakers deliver sonic performance previously limited to high-end, freestanding speakers. The Sonance Silhouette design approach eliminates the coloration caused by drywall vibration by isolation critical speaker components from the wall itself. The array design for the tweeter and two midrange drivers offers a controlled vertical dispersion pattern, which keeps the listener in the speakerís ìsweet spot,î whether seated or standing. The arrayís unique enclosure is mounted to a 1-inch thick baffle, which is then coupled with a rigid aluminum frame to control resonance. The speakers are comprised of an elliptical 6-inch-wide aluminum cone woofer, a 4-inch cast magnesium cone midrange and a 1-inch high-fidelity concave titanium dome tweeter with glass fiber reinforced polymer chassis. The 4-inch midrange driver design was chosen after scientific research into the interaction between midrange drywall components and loudspeakers revealed that the drywall/stud interface is most susceptible to resonance in the 150 Hz to 200 Hz band. The Sonance Silhouetteís 4-inch midrange drivers allow a crossover point at 135 Hz, below this resonance frequency.Sonance Silhouette is available in three models: the Sonance Silhouette I (SL1936) is 36 inches tall and has one woofer and the tweeter midrange array; the Sonance Silhouette II (SL2946) is 46 inches tall and features two woofers and the array; and the Sonance Silhouette III (SL4966) is 66 inches tall and features four woofers and the array.Target retail pricing has been set at $3,500 for a pair of Sonance Silhouette I, $4,500 for a pair of Sonance Silhouette II and $6,000 per pair of Sonance Silhouette III.Sonance, headquartered in San Clemente, Calif., was the first high-fidelity architectural audio brand in the world.
