Panamax Introduces POWERMAX 8 COAX

Surge Protector Wins CES Innovations 2000 Award

Panamax, leading manufacturer of power protection products, announces the introduction of the new POWERMAX 8 COAX surge protector for home stereo and cable television. The new unit has been awarded a CES Innovations 2000 Design and Engineering Award. POWERMAX 8 COAX, part of an entirely new family line, received honors in the video category. In addition to offering surge protection for eight AC lines, the unit is HDTV-ready and can protect either cable TV or web TV connections. ""We bring consumers a sleek new design, unsurpassed technology, and a history of nearly 25 years of innovation"" declared Panamax founder and President Henry Moody. ""Everyone wins when we put the complete safety of their equipment first ñ and then top it with award-winning customer service and a lifetime warranty,"" Moody concluded. New Joule technology employed in POWERMAX 8 COAX means the unit can handle an unlimited number of surges. Panamax has developed exclusive Protect and Disconnectô circuitry that makes previous Joule rating comparisons meaningless and is a plus for confused and safety-conscious consumers. Panamax guarantees that the POWERMAX 8 COAX will protect equipment no matter how large the surge. It either absorb and reroutes the surge energy to ground or, in the event of catastrophic surge over 1020 Joules, the POWERMAX 8 COAX disconnects the power to the equipment. Either way, equipment remains safe. Other brands may disconnect the surge protector, but the connected equipment, allowing raw, potentially damaging power to pass through. All eight protected AC outlets on the POWERMAX 8 COAX are spaced to accommodate transformers for maximum flexibility. Four outlets are ""always on,"" four are switched and all provide EMI/RFI noise filtration. For safety, a diagnostic light indicates proper grounding. The six-foot power cord has a right angle plug for ease of installation. Panamax Signal Perfectô circuitry assures application-specific clamping levels and clean, clear connections on the signal lines. The coaxial cable protects for cable TV or antenna protection have a clamping level of 0.7 volts and are gold plated to ensure better picture and better sound quality. The POWERMAX 8 COAXís AC protection circuit has a 200-volt clamping level with instantaneous response time. The unit has a UL 1449 rating of 330 volts on all three legs of power to connected equipment, preventing fire hazard. POWERMAX 8 COAX retails for US$49.95 and carries a lifetime product and a $100.000 connected equipment warranty. Included with the unit cord management labels, and a 3-foot RG6 coax cord.
