Proton Premieres New AA-2580 Five-Channel Power Amplifier
Proton Corporation, long a leader in home audio/video innovations, introduces the AA-2580 Five-Channel Power Amplifier, designed to bring professional-quality sound reproduction to home theater/home audio applications. The AA-2580, compatible with a wide range of the most popular surround receivers and processors, delivers breathtaking bass and clean, clear highs - the full dynamic range of todayís digitally recorded soundtracks and recordings. The Proton AA-2580 allows the user to easily create a 5.1-channel home theater surround system. The AA-2580 features a unique thermal auto-sensing design that automatically employs an ultra-quiet, multi-speed fan to cool the heat sync. A built-in-protection circuit reduces or shuts down output if danger of overheating arises. The Proton AA-2580 delivers 80 watts of power to each of its five channels into eight ohms. Total harmonic distortion (THD) for the AA-2580 at rated power is 0.05 percent. Frequency response measures 20Hz to 20kHz (+0.5dB). Inter modulation distortion, at rated power, is 0.01 percent, and the slew rate is 50 Vrms. The Proton AA-2580 maintains a high damping factor of 100dB. Power bandwidth, 0.1 percent THD, is 10Hz to 50kHz. Input sensitivity is 1 Vrms. Channel separation is 60dB at 1kHz. Signal-to-noise ratio (A-weighted) is 113dB. The clean-lined Proton AA-2580 Five-Channel Power Amplifier features a five volt mini-plug for remote on. Heavy-duty gold-plated speaker terminals and RCA inputs, located on the unitís rear panel, insure the highest quality speaker and component connections.
