Up To 24 Channels Of DIRECTVÆ Programming Available On jetblue Airways Via LiveTV In-Flight Entertainment System

New In-Flight Service Features Wide Variety Of Sports, News, Family And General Entertainment Programming

DIRECTVÆ, Inc., the nation's leading provider of digital satellite television entertainment, and LiveTV, the leading supplier of live television on commercial aircraft, announced that jetBlue Airways will offer its passengers the opportunity to privately view up to 24 channels of television programming as part of its in-flight entertainment. Beginning in mid-March 2000, jetBlue Airways passengers will view live DIRECTV programming on in-flight entertainment equipment supplied by LiveTV. jetBlue Airways will be among the first airlines to offer passengers television programming from DIRECTV on personal flat-screen monitors installed in each seatback. Passengers can personally control the service with individual remotes built into their armrest. The DIRECTV programming package features the best in sports, news, general entertainment and children's programming, including ESPN, ESPN2, ESPNEWS, ESPN Classic, The Golf Channel, CNNsi, Bloomberg Television, CNNfn, CNN Headline News, ZDTV, The Weather Channel, The Travel Channel, Home and Garden TV, The Food Network, Game Show Network, A&E, The History Channel, Discovery Channel, Discovery Health Channel, The Learning Channel, Animal Planet and Boomerang, which features classic cartoons from the Cartoon Network. Two of the 24 channels will be used by DIRECTV to bring special events such as sports and concerts to passengers on an ongoing basis.
