JVC Selects National Semiconductor For Its New Line Of DVD Players

National Semiconductor Corporation announced that JVC has selected the next generation National Mediamatics DVD-on-a-Chip solution for its new line of consumer DVD-Video players. JVC will use this new chip in two next generation DVD-Video players, the XV-D721 and XV-D723, both scheduled for worldwide shipment in early Summer 2000. JVC recently demonstrated both of these DVD-Video players in its booth at the 2000 International Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada. JVC has worked closely with the National Mediamatics group on the development of the next generation DVD-on-a-Chip solution, offering valuable technical advice and insight on the key features and functions that consumers want in a DVD-Video player. The launch of the XV-D721 and XV-D723 brings this partnership to fruition, delivering two of the most advanced full-featured DVD-Video players available today - at a time when the DVD industry is experiencing tremendous growth.
