The Best And The Brightest: Toshiba's New Ultra-Portable

1300 ANSI Lumens LCD Projectors

Toshiba announced the introduction of two ultra-portable MediaStarô LCD multimedia projectors that set new standards in image brightness, picture clarity and overall performance in the under-10 pound category. The new TLP670 and TLP671 projectors offer true XGA resolution and HDTV compatibility, and utilize newly developed glass and lens technologies to achieve unprecedented image quality. The new projectors join Toshiba's TLP450 and TLP451 SVGA models to create the industry's most advanced lineup of high-performance portable LCD projectors. The TLP670 and TLP671 are the ideal presentation tools for the on-the-go executives or anyone who needs a high-quality, all-in-one projector portable enough to easily fit in an airplane's carry-on luggage compartment. For the ultimate in convenience and flexibility, both models feature Toshiba's exclusive T-ForcMK2 computer interface, for full compatibility with notebook and desktop computers and PC workstations. ""The ultra-portable LCD projector category is one of the fastest growing in the multimedia projector industry,"" noted Sam Malik, Director of National Sales and Marketing, Multimedia Products Group. ""With a lineup of four high-performance ultra-portable models, Toshiba is demonstrating its clear leadership in the field. By raising the brightness capability of our new projectors to 1300 ANSI lumens, Toshiba has set a new benchmark for ultra-portable multimedia projector image quality."" Toshiba's ultra-portable projectors utilize advanced 0.9-inch polysilicon LCDs, operating in conjunction with a precision micro lens array, to produce images of exceptional sharpness, color purity and image clarity. To ensure compatibility with all computers and workstations in all resolution modes, Toshiba MediaStar projectors employ a unique digital video compression technology called T-ForcMK2, which significantly improves image quality in all display modes. T-ForcMK2 employs sophisticated video interpolation and compression techniques to eliminate jagged edges and produce images of exceptional smoothness and clarity. In addition, T-ForcMK2 technology also re-sizes different display resolutions to fill the projection screen without the need for manual adjustment. Built-In ""Visualizer"" Makes Presentations Come Alive Unique to Toshiba LCD projectors, the TLP671 and TLP451 feature Toshiba's built-in ""visualizer"" - an 810,000-pixel digital color document camera with a one-button white balance function that automatically optimizes image quality for any brightness setting. The visualizer is capable of projecting written materials and three-dimensional objects directly from the surface of the projector. This allows presenters to place meeting notes, photographs, engineering drawings - even actual products - on the projector surface, and display high-resolution images on a wall or screen. For close inspection, a digital zoom feature on all models allows users to zoom in on a particular area of a displayed image or object and enlarge it for an up-close view. Ideal for use with all PC and Macintosh computers, VCRs, camcorders and DVD-Video players, Toshiba's new lightweight LCD projectors display images in sizes ranging from 22-inches (diagonal measurement) for small-room presentations to pictures over 20 feet in size for large audiences. Along with their unmatched portability, brightness and image quality, all Toshiba ultra-portable LCD projectors offer total connection flexibility with all video sources. The projectors accept NTSC, PAL, SECAM and S-Video signals, and models TLP670 and TLP671 are compatible with high-definition (HD) video signals, utilizing advanced conversion circuitry to display super-sharp and clear images from HD sources. In addition, all four projectors include audio connections and a built-in speaker, along with image-enhancing and convenience features such as Automatic Digital Keystone Correction and freeze-frame capability. To make control of presentations easier, each new MediaStar projector comes equipped with a multi-function integrated remote control that includes a wireless mouse and a built-in laser pointer. The 7.9lb TLP670 and 9.9lb TLP671 are currently available at suggested retail prices of $6,995.00 and $7,995.00, respectively. The TLP450 and TLP451 (rated at 1000 ANSI lumens) are currently available at suggested retail prices of $4,995.00 and $5,995.00.
