The President of LAUNCH Media, Inc. and a senior official in the CMGI family of companies were recently elected to the Digital Media Association (DiMA) Board of Directors, DiMA Director Jonathan Potter announced. Bob Roback, Co-Founder and President of LAUNCH Media and Jon Sichel, Senior Vice President of iCast (CMGIís new entertainment Web site), are the newest members of DiMAís Board. DiMAís 11-member Board also includes senior officials of RealNetworks, Liquid Audio, MTVi, CDNow, Tower Online, Rioport, Emusic.com, Spinner.com, and DiscoverMusic.com. ""I am pleased at the opportunity to reinforce LAUNCHís leadership and commitment to our industry by serving on the DiMA Board,"" said Roback, who co-founded LAUNCH Media in 1995. ""My recent experience testifying before the Congress about Internet video issues reminded all of us at LAUNCH of the importance of DiMAís work in Washington, D.C. and internationally."" CMGIís commitment to DiMA was illustrated when Jon Sichel, iCASTís Senior Vice President for Business Operations, pursued a DiMA Board seat even prior to his first day on the job. ""DiMAís ability to leverage our industry colleagues and partners is essential to the development of supportive public policy and industry practices,"" said Sichel. ""iCAST and our DiMA colleagues have in a matter of months come to rely on DiMAís expertise and Washington presence, and CMGIís stated intention to be an industry leader is reinforced by our leadership in DiMA."" ""DiMA is honored to add as Board members two companies that are committed to building and supporting a strong industry organization. As DiMA has grown from seven to 45 members, our Board has expanded and Board membership has become indicative of industry credibility"" said DiMA Director Jonathan Potter. ""For the first time we had more candidates seeking Board membership than were elected, which illustrates the premium associated with DiMA membership and leadership.""
